Ever find yourself stuck on a design decision? Maybe you need help choosing a paint color, finding the perfect wallpaper, or figuring out how to style a tricky space. That’s where my Power Hour Consultation comes in—a fast, efficient, and stress-free way to get expert design advice without committing to a full-scale project.
What Is a Power Hour?
My Power Hour is a focused, one-on-one design consultation where we tackle your most pressing design questions. Whether it’s choosing paint colors, picking out light fixtures, or selecting furniture, you get professional guidance tailored to your space. Some clients need just an hour, while others opt for extended time to tackle bigger projects—like one recent client who turned a single Power Hour into a full 10-hour design experience!

A Real-Life Example: From One Hour to a Stunning Home Transformation
A homeowner reached out to me needing help designing their small home but wasn’t sure where to start. After a quick 15-minute consultation, I suggested my Designer on Call service, which offers up to 10 hours of expert help. Once the invoice and contract were signed, we got to work!
Step 1: Walkthrough & Defining the Scope
We kicked things off with an in-home consultation where I spent an hour touring the space, understanding their style, and identifying design challenges. The scope of work included:
- Designing a dining area banquette with a new table
- Selecting wallpaper and paint colors for the primary bedroom and guest bath
- Choosing paint colors for the main living areas and trim
- Finding new vanity light fixtures and mirror options for the bathrooms
- Suggesting furniture and accessories to complete the look
Step 2: Making Design Decisions
With my large paint sample boards in hand, we compared colors and landed on a beautiful, timeless palette:
- SW Accessible Beige for trim, doors, and molding
- BM OC-17 White Dove for all walls
- SW Panda White for the guest bathroom
We moved on to fixtures and furniture, selecting a gorgeous green fabric (Greenhouse Tulip) for the dining chairs and a stunning gold mirror for the guest bath. For lighting, we chose a new pendant for the dining area and updated vanity lights for the bathroom.

Step 3: Adding Personality with Wallpaper
To bring in a touch of character and charm, we explored Grandmillennial-style wallpaper and landed on these gorgeous selections:
- Primary Bedroom: Hydrangea wallpaper (RP7393) pairs beautifully with the client’s existing green dresser and upholstered chair.
- Mud Room: Peacock wallpaper (RI5174) with new board and batten molding for a bold, whimsical touch.
- Guest Bathroom: Aster wallpaper (RF7433), a soft and sophisticated choice that ties the space together.
I also provided the client with recommended wallpaper installers to ensure a flawless application.
Step 4: The Final Result
Over the course of 10 hours, we transformed this home into a unique, personality-filled space with thoughtful details and timeless choices. Some of my favorite moments from this project:
- The Accessible Beige trim and White Dove walls create a fresh, updated look—flipping the traditional dark-walls, white-trim formula!
- The peacock wallpaper in the mudroom adds a fun, unexpected moment.
- The gold mirror and board-and-batten trim in the guest bath elevate the space beautifully.
