So, you’ve decided to hire an interior designer – congratulations! This is a big decision. But then the first question: which North Carolina interior design firm do you hire? I hope it will be First Impressions by Julie! That question is likely followed closely by how much is this going to cost?
Design Costs Vary
First interior design costs vary – some designers charge by square foot, some per hour, and some per room. Understanding the right questions to ask when you speak to one will make you more confident that you’re getting the answers you need to make an informed decision.
The Value of a Designer
Read my thoughts on what value a designer brings to your project here. This will give insight into my perspective and what gets addressed (spoiler alert: I’ll address it all, even things you don’t think of!). With us, you’ll get a tailor-made approach that will transform your space into something you love.
What is the Process?
Also, you’ll also want to know about the process – I talk about that here and here, and it will vary a bit based on which services. Now, back to the financial side. It’s vital to know how much you’re able to devote and for your designer to develop a cost estimate, based on the project scope. Make sure to have this conversation early on, to set everyone’s expectations.
Average Project Price
Primarily, I evaluate my fees based on my estimated hours, which generally tends to be about 20% of the project price for full-service. This is always customized to your individual project and needs. If you’re a client who only needs guidance, you might want to check out my 2-hour and 10-hour Power Hour packages.
